Welcome Aboard!
Our vision goes back many years. The business was
founded by Harold Brubaker. He worked with
computerized photo-typesetting equipment and began to
see that in the future every small business would have a
need for a desktop computer. In May, 1979, Valley MicroComputers was formed. Many
small businesses were doing accounting and other tasks
by hand at that time. A goal was established to provide these
businesses with a place to obtain computers and help in
using them, hence our slogan, "We make computers work
for you". We established relationships with customers
based on integrity and being open to their concerns.
The business started in a small room on Main Street in
Harrisonburg, Virginia, one of the first computer retail
stores in the state. In 1984 we moved to a larger
storefront at the city limits, just East of the Valley
Mall. In January of 1993, we moved into our present home
at 963 Reservoir Street. We've adapted to many changes
and help our customers to stay current with technology
as it upgrades at an ever-fast changing rate. Mr.
Brubaker has retired and passed the torch to the next
generation. While much has changed since 1979, the way
we do business hasn't.
We want to help you steward your IT dollars. If you're a
present or longstanding customer, thanks for trusting
us. If we haven't met yet, we would be honored with your visit.
